At the time of choosing a name for the hotel, crucial moment, one must probe the history:

One discovers the existence of a Canton as of a Club of hunting and fishings carrying both the name of Roquemont.

It is also learned that the notary Marcel Larue, well-known of the raymondois was cofounder of this Club. And, oh surprise, he was owner of the house located to the 567 St-Joseph, become the Auberge La Bastide, now exploited by the new owners of the hotel, Jean Labranche and Pascal Cothet.

In symbolic system, consonances of the name pointing out a force of nature (rock), its site and the ondoyant horizon of the hills which surround it (mount). ROQUEMONT... a resonance which will recall many memories to many raymondois.

Before the foundation of the parish of Saint-Raymond, this territory named “Bourglouis” and was surrounded of Cantons GOSFORD, COLBERT and ROQUEMONT.

In 1936, following steps made by the provincial government of time, Dr. Octave Moisan and the Notary Marcel Larue succeed in obtaining part of immense “the Tourilli Club” held by American millionaires, whose president was the famous John Rockfeller.

One gave to the new Club the name of “Club of hunting and fishing ROQUEMONT” since part of the territory was located in the Roquemont Canton (or Rocmont). The Club included 16 lakes and 16 members gave their names to the lakes. Following a law voted in 1976, the provincial government abolishes the clubs in order to make them available to the citizens. Finally the new name of the hotel was found.
